This is a watercolor I painted en Plein Air, while sitting on Livingston St ‚on a gorgeous sunny autumn day. The colorful Fall leaves were all around me.

I poured 3 colors of paint, a Lian Zhen technique, to make this painting of a boating town. I only used red, yellow, and blue watercolor.

Spring House is an oil painting I did en Plein Air, on location. The strong shadow is what drew me in to this scene.

This painting was done on location, as I sat by myself in a little outdoor cafe in Venice, eating pizza and enjoying a glass of wine. I painted to my hearts content, because in Italy they let you sit there all day, no one rushes you along.

This is a painting commissioned by a family. It was painted in memory of Ed, a man who painstakingly and lovingly spent his life restoring his family’s Victorian house.

The bicycle caught my eye, so I stopped and sketched this scene in pen and ink, then layered on watercolor. I painted it on location in France on a cobble stone street.
