Italy Watercolor Retreat Spring 2016

with Jeanne Salucci

 SOLD OUT

MAY 6 -14, 2016

No experience needed! Jeanne will walk you step by step into the wonderful world of watercolor. This retreat is great for beginners, as well as experienced painters. Each day brings new lessons on using watercolor techniques while being surrounded by the spectacular Italian countryside. Plus Jeanne's extensive teaching and plein air painting experience in multiple countries makes her retreat in Italy all the more enjoyable - and truly special.

The setting for the watercolor retreat with Jeanne Salucci is an 18th century countryside Villa nestled along the border of Tuscany and Umbria. Get up early and watch the morning sun break through the swirling mist in the valley, enjoy lounging, walking and painting as you gaze at breath-taking panoramas, and get together with your fellow painters for a sip of vino as the sun sets behind the Tuscan hills. Of course there is also the onsite chef, lovely sleeping rooms (all private rooms with private baths!) and comfy areas both inside and out for gathering together to paint, or to chat. Simply spectacular.

Jeanne has incorporated into her itinerary side trips to picturesque medieval hill towns with a variety of delightful vistas - and plenty of opportunities for painting, wandering and shopping. Culturally rich experiences such as, pasta-making class, visits with Artisans and a Thermal Spa are just the beginning of this once-in-a-lifetime event in the heart of Italy.

Jeanne Salucci will guide you step by step, in a fun, relaxing and enjoyable workshop, where you will learn about painting en Plein Air with Watercolors. Splash around in the wonderful world of watercolor with other beginners, or take your art to the next level if you have painted before - all while you are inspired by gorgeous Tuscany locations!

Panoramic views, hilltop villages, medieval towns, vineyards, country roads, a castle, reflective lake and more ...You'll take part in daily demonstrations and step-by-step lessons where you will paint right alongside Jeanne.

Jeanne will teach you:

  • how to zone in on a location to paint

  • how to find a focal point

  • how to lock in your light and shadows

  • the key to a successful painting

  • how to mix colors

  • interesting watercolor techniques

  • how to use lights and darks to pop your painting

  • tons of painting tips - all while having fun!

This is a great class for beginners, to refresh if you’ve painted before or to just be creative. Let your inner artist come out in a relaxed, non competitive atmosphere! You'll also paint in our studio, as well as gorgeous Tuscany locations, where Jeanne will teach the fantastic, exciting Watercolor Pouring Technique.
