I have been fortunate to study in many workshops with artist Lian Zehn. He taught me the interesting poured watercolor technique, using only 3 colors.
This painting is done in this very free Chinese style.

This is a watercolor I painted en Plein Air, while sitting on Livingston St ‚on a gorgeous sunny autumn day. The colorful Fall leaves were all around me.

I poured 3 colors of paint, a Lian Zhen technique, to make this painting of a boating town. I only used red, yellow, and blue watercolor.

This is a painting commissioned by a family. It was painted in memory of Ed, a man who painstakingly and lovingly spent his life restoring his family’s Victorian house.
